I had perfected the art of outsourcing life. Every aspect of daily living that could be delegated, was. One day, I cracked open a walnut and had a revelation. Have you ever thought about how, when you crack open a walnut and eat it, you become the only person in the world who will ever see that specific walnut? There's sweetness in these small moments that no amount of convenience can replace.
I no longer think that time is money. You cannot buy time with money, but you can choose how to experience it. Now, I find joy in caring for my clothes and preparing healthy dishes. Peeling carrots, cutting avocados, pan-frying fish. Each one a small celebration of being present in my own life.
In choosing to insource these daily activities, I've found a different kind of wealth: the completeness that comes from direct engagement with life itself.
